A welcoming space and supportive environment where young adults with Autism can connect, share, and grow together.
Criteria to attend Connections:
1. Participate is able to demonstrate safe behavior in the community independently or with minimal redirection from staff. This includes, but is not limited to, staying with staff/group, following staff directions, safely crossing the street, etc.
2. To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and staff, individuals may not be eligible for the program if they exhibit any of the following behaviors that result in or pose a risk of bodily harm to themselves or others:
a. Aggression toward others
b. Property destruction
c. Self-injurious behavior
d. Elopement
e. Sexualized behavior that compromises the safety or well-being of others
3. Individuals with a documented diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.
4. Participants must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
5. Participant should not require medication administration during program hours.
6. Participant must demonstrate complete independence with hygiene and bathroom use.
7. If an individual typically requires 1:1 assistance, a helper is required to attend the event with the participant.
8. We recommended that the individual demonstrate the ability to follow 2-step instructions.
