Job Overview:
ARCKC is seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Program Support Staff to work directly with adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in our pre-vocational program. This role plays a vital part in supporting adults with ASD as they work on developing essential skills for independence, socialization, and employment readiness. The ideal candidate will have patience, understanding, and flexibility to adapt to the unique needs and behaviors associated with ASD while fostering a positive and engaging environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist participants with daily program activities, ensuring safety and engagement, while considering sensory sensitivities and communication challenges associated with ASD.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support during vocational tasks and training sessions, adapting to the individual needs and learning styles of participants with ASD both in the clinic and in the community
  • Assist with daily program flow, transitions, and activity preparation
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and organized environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with adult individuals with ASD (e.g., paraprofessional in classroom, support staff in a day habilitation environment, direct support professional)
Required Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor
  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of participants, understanding that ASD often requires individualized approaches
*Must be able to pass a background check*

Physical Requirements:
This position requires an individual to be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, run, lift up to 25lbs, reach and squat.

Schedule and Flexibility:
This role requires in-person availability onsite from either 12:15-3:45 PM or 9:00 AM -4:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays during ARCKC’s program days. Opportunities for additional responsibilities may be available based on program needs.
